This position is currently fully staffed.
Casual hours (zero-hour contract) – predominantly evenings and weekends
£10.42 to £12.42 per hour depending on skills and knowledge (plus higher R+R or UK Theatre hourly rates for get-outs)
This is a fantastic opportunity join our technical team on a casual basis – helping us deliver magical experiences in the new Cornwall Playhouse, our 1300 seat auditorium. Shifts will vary in length depending on the size of the show and the time of the get-in. Get-outs usually start at 1030 and generally last 2-6 hours. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of something special and develop your technical theatre skills and knowledge. This is a physical role and will involve being on your feet for much of the shift. There is also some working at height. Full training will be given.

What you will be doing
Moving theatrical equipment from trucks on the street, into the venue, and back again.
Helping to prepare the stage – putting sets together, laying cables, rigging lights.
Working flexibly across the team to help where’s needed.
Who we’re looking for to join our team
Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
Personal achievement in the role(s) of stage technician, stage electrician, and/or sound specialist.
Reliable and good at working as part of a team.
A proactive and positive approach to work.
