For over a decade Choreographer & Arts Consultant Cathy Waller has been supporting freelancers working in the Arts and Culture sector to better understand their finances, self-employment & tax.

This session with be facilitated by Cathy to demystify details around:

Tax free income, NI classes and Student Loan Repayments
How and what you can expense
Benefits and Self assessment
Online self assessment: the confusing questions
Budgeting
There will be time for lots of individual questions at the end of the session.

BIO

Cathy is an award-winning Choreographer and Movement Director who has been working across dance, theatre and film for nearly two decades. Her UK touring work has been presented on stages that include; Sadler’s Wells, Barbican, Stratford Circus, West End Live, National Theatre and Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, whilst as a Movement Director she has worked at Theatres such as; Theatre Royal Plymouth, National Theatre, Theatre Clwyd, Nottingham Playhouse and Park Theatre London.

Cathy has been running Tax Workshops for Artists & Creatives for the past 10 years. As part of Cathy Waller Company’s consultancy work, these workshops are hosted annually by the company and have been facilitated through many Arts Organisations and Educational Institutions such as; DanceEast, English National Ballet School, East London Dance, Disability Arts Online, The Place, Trinity Laban, NESCOT, Derby University, University of Suffolk, Hall for Cornwall, Addict Dance Academy and Poet in the City.
