Musical Theatre Summer School: Disney’s Newsies Jr.

Got a passion for performance? Harbouring some lead role energy? If you’re 11-18*, the spotlight is waiting this summer.

Read all about it! We’ve teamed up again with Falmouth University to run a 6-day summer school in August 2025. Working with seasoned pros, you’ll hone your creativity skills through singing, acting and dance and a public performance of Disney’s Newsies Jr. on SAT 23 AUG.

*Summer school age range:

Ages 11-18.

This summer school is suitable for young people at secondary school – further education (Years 7-13).

This summer school is also suitable for young people who are currently in year 6 but will be in year 7 in the 25-26 academic year.

This summer school and the performance of Disney’s Newsies Jr. is being delivered at the AMATA Arts Centre, in the purpose-built studios, (Falmouth University, Penryn Campus) and not at Hall for Cornwall in Truro.

Summer school dates:

MON 18 – SAT 23 AUG

Additional audition day (half day) – date and times TBC

Public performance of Disney’s Newsies Jr. on SAT 23 AUG at 19:00

Summer school costs:

£250 per person

It is possible to pay for the summer school in £50 instalments by the following dates after you have made the first £50 payment:

Instalment 1 deadline – WED 16 APR

Instalment 2 deadline – WED 14 MAY

Instalment 3 deadline – WED 18 JUN

Instalment 4 deadline – WED 16 JUL
