Julien Boast
Chief Executive & Creative Director
Julien has been CEO & Creative Director since 2011. Before this, he has had a 20-year career as an arts leader in both subsidised and commercial theatre. From 2002-2010, he worked for the international company, the Ambassador Theatre Group, (ATG), initially as Chief Executive of the award-winning 200-year-old Theatre Royal Brighton. In 2009, he was additionally appointed Chief Executive of Churchill Theatre Bromley, the regional producing arm of ATG. He served as Chair of South East Dance; a Trustee of English Touring Theatre, Dance Touring Partnership and Blast Theory and was Co-founder and Vice-Chair of Brighton & Hove Arts Commission - a cultural and political arms-length advisory and delivery organisation where it delivered the highest engagement with the arts of a population outside on the capital city of London. He has also served as a council member for Arts Council England both for the South East and South West Offices. He was the first person to set up apprenticeships in theatre's technical areas for employees with disabilities for Arts Council England.
