After many successful productions at Hall for Cornwall in the past, RAOST (Redruth Amateur Operatic Society Trust) are overjoyed to be returning in 2025 with the whimsical and wonderful, Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Based on the famous novel, this spectacular stage show features an original score composed by Marc Shaiman, with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray) and a book by David Greig. With memorable songs such as I’ve Got a Golden Ticket and the Oompa Loompa Song, that pay homage to the Leslie Bricusse/Anthony Newley score from the 1971 film, this local society will lead you to the mysterious Candy Man, and take you to a weird and wonderful world of Pure Imagination.
The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory… but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and the four other golden ticket winners can’t wait to feast on the sweets of their dreams. But as they embark on their extraordinary journey through Willy Wonka’s marvellous mind, they soon learn that nobody leaves the same way they arrived…
Please note: This is an amateur production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Redruth Amateur Operatic Society Trust
